The study affirmed that an amputated hand of a medieval man was replaced with a knife.
An Italian man’s remains have been uncovered by Archaeologists dating between 6-8th century AD, possibly suggest that a knife was used to replace an amputated hand. They also found a buckle of D-shape which served as a cap over the amputated bone. Scientists also believed that man used his teeth to tighten the leather straps of a knife.
