Deadly Earthquake in Turkey killing 22 people and more than 1000 people injured. Thousands of people are left homeless.

On Friday evening, Turkey experienced a powerful earthquake killing 21 people. The magnitude was 6.8 with the epicentre in Sivirice. Thousands of people have become homeless and are forced to live on streets.  Fifteen afterschoks have been recorded with the highest magnitude 5.4. The earthquake has caused major damage to 10 buildings. Several other countries including Syria, Iraq and Lebanon felt the earthquake too. According to some reports 30 buildings collapsed in the two provinces- Elazig and Ankara. TV footage showed 4 reporters reporting during the earthquake. Serious damage caused by the earthquake in Turkey puts a big question mark on how much Turkey is prepared to face such an earthquake. Though tents and emergency aids are provided by the government but people are concerned about what will happen in the long-run.
