Four killed and eleven injured in Pune as hoarding falls on a busy road
During the demolition of an illegal hoarding, four people lost their lives, and eleven were left seriously injured

Four were killed and 11 injured when an illegal hoarding fell on a road in Pune during busy hours as workers were trying to remove it to avoid an accident. The hoarding owned by Railways was installed on the premises of the station.

Passersby said that six autos and two two-wheelers and a car came under the hoarding resulting in multiple injuries. Workers were trying to remove the hoardings by attaching it to ropes, but they lost their balance, and the hoarding fell. 6 of such hoardings were removed, and four have been uninstalled before in July.

Railways had not informed either the authorities or the traffic police about their decision to bring down the hoarding and have been therefore blamed for the incident. The hoardings themselves were illegal and beyond the size of the maximum size permitted.
