Street Graffiti was done showcasing the journey of street workers in Kolkata on the occasion of Durga Puja

A 300 feet long street graffiti was made by the Durga Puja community organizers which showcased the journey of the sex workers in Kolkata. This was made in the Ahiritola area and portrays a life of a sex worker and the difficulties and hardships they face.

The aim is to spread awareness among people and to highlight the life and struggle of a sex worker, said Uttam Saha, president of the Ahritolata Jubakbrinda Durga puja committee.

This is dedicated to the workers of red light district Sonagachhi which is known to be Asia’s largest red light area. The graffiti was made using different colors which would showcase various aspects of their life.

Manas Roy, an artist, shared his views saying, A woman becomes a sex worker either due to trafficking or for the sake of running her family. She is also a mother, who despite all odds, takes care of her children and family. There can't be disparity when we celebrate womanhood in the form of goddess Durga.

An epic individual who is in love with Superheros and paradoxes. With that said i love to write about movies, tech and science.
