Manipur CM N Biren Singh on Sunday extended the state lockdown till July 15 because Manipur has detected several new Covid-19 cases. The state authorities have previously extended lockdown till June 30 but the situation was not in control as no.of new cases increased rapidly. Now it has been extended till July 15 to curb the spread of the virus.
Manipur has detected 94 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 1185 on the first day of the week.
Government has taken off some restrictions from the public and only the important activities are allowed to be taken out in this situation. In the extended lockdown, no public transport will be allowed to function in the state.
Manipur has 730 active cases and 455 are recovered from the virus.
