The US space agency has said that the Earth has shifted its wobble or ‘polar motion’ by 10 metres in its last century alone. The scientists have solid reasons to believe that the melting of polar ice and the fast burning up of fossil fuels is responsible for the shift in its polar motion along its axis. NASA estimates a massive 7,500 gigatons of Greenland's ice melted into the ocean in the 20th century.
