After Kangana Ranaut came out to share her story of harassment as part of the #MeToo campaign, Sonam Kapoor said although she supports the victim who first came out to speak up against Vikas Bahl, she does not feel Kangana’s statement is that credible. Kangana was furious by this and later said that no one gave a right to Sonam to judge her when she was sharing her own #MeToo story. She went on to say that unlike Sonam, she was self-made and took ten years to establish herself in the industry.
Kangana said that she has represented India in various summits where she is a thought and youth influencer and thereby articulate enough to express her thoughts and opinions. She also said that Sonam does not have any right to take digs at her.
Sonam Kapoor had earlier tweeted out her support to Tanushree Dutta indirectly by stating that she believed her friend Janice Sequeira, a journalist who had stood by and reassured Tanushree’s claim in the incident. However, Sonam did not directly state any confidence in Tanushree’s statement.
