Police in Odisha used pigeons to send messages during a ceremony from Bhubaneswar to Cuttack on Saturday. They said that Odisha is the only state in India that uses pigeons to communicate between police stations. This pigeon service in Odisha started in 1946 when army people gave 200 pigeons to communicate in areas which have no wireless or telephone links, they added.
