Did You Know Current American Flag was Designed by High School Student?
The national Flag of US was designed by a high-school student in his class project. Initially, he was awarded B- grade for his project on the flag.

The story behind the US flag is quite interesting and funny. The current American Flag was designed by a high school boy in his class project. He was awarded B-grade by his teacher for that project.

The student name was Bob Heft. Bob Heft in his high school made a project that was based on the flag of America. Initially, his teacher was not impressed much with his project and awarded him a B- grade. It was in 1958, and America consists of 48 US states. The flag at that time contained only six rows of eight stars. Heft planned to add one star every time when there is increase in states. In the starting, there were 48 stars flag, and he brought that flag and shown to his teacher as a project.

Bob protested his grade and tried to improve his grade by improving the design. His teacher said-' If you don't like grade then go and approve this by Washington. He marked his teacher's word and tried several times to contact in White House. After trying several times, he even reached to one of the state representative  Walter H.Moeller  from Ohio who advocated his design to President Eisenhower. After a while, President said that his design has been chosen from thousands. On July 4th,1960 he went to see his project as a national flag. His teacher later changed his grade.

His design went on with 51 stars flag. Sadly in 2009, he died, but in the end, he gave a 51-star design representative to the state.
