Dione found covered in long bright stripes
Saturn’s moon was discovered to be having long streaks

Scientists are studying new images of Dione that show the moon having long bright stripes which seem to be parallel and overlying other features. They are also unaffected by topography, so they are presumed to be the youngest surfaces on Dione.

National Air and Space Museum also said that there had been similar stripes seen on Rhea, another moon of Saturn.

Patthoff stated that if the stripes are made due to an exogenic source, then they can be a means of bringing new matter to the moon. It could also have consequences for the potential of biology on Dione’s oceans.
