Edison Puts An Elephant to Death to Prove his Theory
The fight between Thomas Edison and Tesla ended on after the death of the elephant that proved that Tesla's AC current was dangerous.

This incident is of the date January 4, 1903, when Edison fries an elephant to prove his point. Topsy, the elephant was electrocuted at Luna Park, Zoo in Coney Island in 1903. The event was like that as the elephant was staged in between the experiments to prove the theory of currents i.e., Alternating Current.

Thomas Edison in 1903, staged an elephant to demonstrate his Theory of alternating current. Edison further developed the concept of Direct current and was in no mood to lose when George Westinghouse and Nicola Tesla showed up the experiments with Alternating current. Edison was planning to go for the experiments with Stray dogs and cats, but later on changed his mood and experimented with elephant at Luna Park, Zoo at Island.

On the day of the demonstration, Topsy was tightened with ropes. Wooden sandals with copper electrode were attached to feet and a copper wire connected from Edison electric light plant, where his team awaited to go ahead with this experiment. To handle Topsy in full control they gave her cyanide-laced carrots before the demonstration of 6600 volt AC charge.

The crowd present there enjoyed the full experiment and this incident was later known as 'Electrocuting an Elephant'.
