Major shock to KCR as Election Commission fast tracks the code of conduct for poll for Telangana
After IT minister KTR was condemned for attending the Hyderabad metro launch, Election Commission move shocks the caretaker CM of Telangana.

In a major shocker to KCR, EC has decided that the moral code of conduct should come into effect as soon as the assembly is dissolved prematurely. This applies to both the centre and the states.

According to this code of conduct based off an SC verdict in 1994, once the assembly has been dissolved neither the state nor the central government can announce any new schemes or projects. They can neither put any official resources to unofficial use. Ministers are also prohibited from being a part of any launch events or projects or conduct their behaviour in any way that would give them an unfair advantage as a ruling party.

This move comes a day after Congress criticised KT Rama Rao, IT minister and KCR’ son for being a part of the launch of the second phase of Hyderabad metro.

KCR had called for the dissolution of the state assembly and termed it as a ‘sacrifice’ but it has been interpreted as his move to stand against a Congress-TDP alliance.
