Outside Food To Be Allowed In Multiplexes In Andhra Pradesh
District Consumer Disputes Redressal has announced that citizens can now carry food into multiplexes.

The District Consumer Disputes Redressal in Vijayawada has given a verdict that moviegoers can now carry outside food into movie theatres. This is a huge relief for the movie lovers as the prices inside the multiplexes for food are unreasonably high. The District Consumer disputes redressal has also imposed a fine of 5 lakh rupees on three beverage companies for selling their products way higher than the MRP price inside the multiplexes. The food court section of multiplexes is one of the highest profiting sections for multiplex owners. Since the verdict has gone against their wishes, it is yet to be seen how the owners are going to deal with this change. Further, the consumer court has also ordered the management of multiplexes to return the excess money they have earned by overpricing the products inside the multiplex with a 9% of interest from the day the product was purchased. The consumer court bench consisted of President Madhava Rao and eight others. They gave a verdict of 21 pages written in Telugu which is the first in the history of consumer court.
