After PayTm founder, Vijay Shekhar Sharma accused Sonia Dhawan and two other employees of blackmailing him and trying to extort money. Sonia’s family came forward and said that they suspect foul play in the events leading up to the arrest of their daughter.
The family claims that Sonia was a known face apart from the founder and she had always done her best for the company and treated it like her own family. She owned stocks worth Rs.10 crores and they don’t see why she would want to extort Rs.20 crore from the founder. They also added that before this case Sonia had some arguments with another colleague who she had said was trying to stop her promotion.
Sonia, her husband, and another employee, have been sent to judicial custody for the next 2 weeks.
