2018 has opened with a bang. Following up last year’s success at the box office with Dangal creating a wave, the New Year started on a high with the release of Padmaavat that stormed the box office. Despite the opposition the film faced the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial worked well at the box office. Now as we July nears to a close, it is time to look back at some of the best performances of Bollywood actors so far.

The actress who portrayed the role of an Indian spy in Pakistan in the movie mesmerised one and all with her acting prowess once again. Alia Bhatt’s portrayal of Sehmat received massive praise from critics as well as the audience.

After the success of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, Akshay Kumar was back this year with his much-anticipated film, ‘Padman’. Based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu who introduced low-cost sanitary pads, the film touched the sensitive subject of menstruation. With a bold topic and Akshay’s fabulous performance, the R Balki directorial was undoubtedly on point.

Showing off his acting prowess yet again, Shoojit Sircar’s ‘October’ not only showed us a different love story but a whole different side of Varun Dhawan altogether. The film also starred a newbie Banita Sandhu opposite Varun. The actor’s portrayal of ‘Dan’, a naive and innocent man was appreciated by all.
