1. Ranbir Kapoor In Sanju
He is the heir of the famous Kapoor Khandaan and has acting and films in his blood and veins like his grandfather Raj Kapoor and father Rishi Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor is undoubtedly an excellent actor. However, blame it on his choices of films or sheer bad luck, the actor is still due to what he deserves. His latest release ‘Sanju’, a biopic on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt was the most awaited film before its release. Ranbir’s physical transformation was hailed highly and it was to be seen if the actor delivered to what was expected out of him.
2. Ranveer Singh in Padmaavat
Known for his ultimate preparation to get into the skin of the character, Ranveer Singh not only underwent physical transformation but also changed his body language and mannerism to suit the character that he was about to portray on the silver screen. So much that he had reportedly started behaving the similar manner in real life also. The actor also had to reportedly see a psychologist to get himself out of that character.
3. Alia Bhatt In Raazi
Alia Bhatt once again delivered one of her finest performances in Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions’ ‘Raazi’. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie also starred Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. The actress who portrayed the role of an Indian spy in Pakistan in the movie mesmerised one and all with her acting prowess once again. Alia Bhatt’s portrayal of Sehmat received massive praise from critics as well as the audience.
4. Akshay Kumar In Padman
Akshay Kumar has been on a success roll for a long time now. The actor has been hitting the right chord with the audience by picking up stories based on social issues. After the success of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, Akshay Kumar was back this year with his much-anticipated film, ‘Padman’. Based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu who introduced low-cost sanitary pads, the film touched the sensitive subject of menstruation. With a bold topic and Akshay’s fabulous performance, the R Balki directorial was undoubtedly on point.
5. Varun Dhawan In October
Varun Dhawan is one of the most multi-faceted actors from the new crop of actors we have in Bollywood. Be it a masala commercial film like ‘Judwaa’ or an intense thriller like ‘Badlapur’, Varun has undoubtedly nailed it. Showing off his acting prowess yet again, Shoojit Sircar’s ‘October’ not only showed us a different love story but a whole different side of Varun Dhawan altogether. The film also starred a newbie Banita Sandhu opposite Varun. The actor’s portrayal of ‘Dan’, a naive and innocent man was appreciated by all.
