There has been a lot of arguments and debates regarding Dhoni's recent performance in the matches and his position in the team owing to his ongoing average performance.
AB de Villiers, Former South African captain has spoken about this. He shared his thoughts and said that he would gladly have Dhoni in his team and let him play till Dhoni was 80. Villiers further said that India is lucky to have a player like M.S. Dhoni.
AB de Villiers said, “You guys are funny. No, I would play Dhoni in my team every day of every year. He can be eighty, in a wheelchair and he would still play for my team. He is fantastic. I mean look at his (Dhoni) record."
He said he would not drop a guy like Dhoni. If India wants to make a decision like that, they can sure go ahead, but if it were him, De Villiers would never drop him out of the team. "You want to drop a guy like that? You can go ahead by all means. I wouldn’t."
