Alcohol-Based Hand Sanitizer to Come Under 18% GST Criteria
Sanitizer containing alcohol will now be charged 18%GST according to the reports by AAR.

The Authority for Advance Ruling has said that 18% GST will be imposed on Alcohol-Based Sanitizer. Since Alcohol has highest GST in terms of other materials, so all the levied hand Sanitizer that contain some amount of alcohol will be under 18%GST ballot.

Since Sanitizer is an important commodity in this pandemic situation, so it's demand is also high. Government has found a better way to earn from the public.

AAR stated that if the manufacturer displays that the Sanitizer is alcohol-based then that Sanitizers will be charged 18% GST. Various party leaders came out in opposition to apply GST on Sanitizers as it is the most important commodity during this phase. Each of them has to buy in large quantities in order to keep them sanitized. But AAR is imposing a heavy amount of GST on this product. The GST will increase the price of the products.
