 Big Basket Sued Over ‘Trademark’ Issue
Tea makers Girnar Food has moved Bombay high court against infringing their royal trademark.

Girnar Food has alleged that the Alibaba group of companies has used their Royal trademark over the use of their ‘Royal’ trademark for the sale of several products including tea. Girnar food has approached the court on 7th, and the hearing is on 18th June. The Mumbai-based tea maker has approached the court against two registered operating entities of BigBasket—SuperMarket Grocery Supplies Pvt. Ltd, the business-to-business entity that sources products and sells it to Innovative Retail—which runs the online grocery portal. However, there is no response or comment from the Big Basket CEO Mr.Hari Menon and the spokesperson of Girnar Foods did not respond to the email regarding the same.
