The Indian rowing team won gold at the Asian Games 2018. They all picked up rowing because winning a national medal meant that they would get a promotion.
Sawarn Singh, Dattu Bhokanal, Om Prakash and Sukhmeet Singh won gold in rowing at the Asian Games 2018. They have a lot of things in common like for example all of them are from the army background. None of them had exposure to rowing before joining the services. All of them are from humble backgrounds who joined the army for a better life. They all picked up rowing because winning a national medal meant that they would get a promotion. They did make India proud on Friday. The four armymen stood atop the Asian Games podium with the Tri-colour unfurling to the National Anthem.
