Karan Johar: Shah Rukh Khan's Dislike for Love Stories & Passion for Action Films
Karan Johar, esteemed filmmaker and friend to many in Bollywood, made an unexpected revelation about superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Despite being the 'King of Romance' on-screen, Shah Rukh apparently had a deep-seated preference for action films, a stark contrast to the love stories that defined his early career. Johar, who directed the actor in several hit romantic dramas such as 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', shared this surprising insight into SRK's personal aspirations, adding a fresh layer to our understanding of this iconic Bollywood personality.

Renowned filmmaker Karan Johar, who made his directorial debut with the romantic drama 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' in 1998, recently revealed a surprising fact about Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. According to Johar, despite having immortalized various romantic characters on-screen, Khan has always had a preference for action roles, contrary to his popular on-screen persona.

In an exclusive interview, Johar divulged that the 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' star wasn't initially keen on love stories. He said,

"Shah Rukh, in fact, always hated love stories and wanted to work in action movies."

During the early stages of his career, Shah Rukh Khan, fondly known as the 'King of Romance' in Bollywood, has delivered some of the most successful love stories in Indian cinema's history. However, Johar's revelation raises an interesting contradiction: the star who is synonymous with romance in the industry always had a penchant for action movies.

Shah Rukh Khan's inclination towards action films is evident in his recent choice of projects, such as 'Don', 'Ra.One', and 'Dilwale', all of which saw him in action-packed roles. His upcoming movie 'Pathan' is also touted to be an action thriller, further substantiating Johar's revelation.

Despite this, Khan's portrayal of romantic characters in films like 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', and more recently 'Jab Harry Met Sejal', have left an indelible mark on the audience, earning him the title of 'King of Romance'.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar is currently busy with his upcoming project, 'Takht', a period drama featuring an ensemble cast. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan is working on 'Pathan', which marks his comeback after a hiatus of almost three years.
