Russia blames rocket failure on a technical malfunction
The Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft blasts off to the international space station at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan on Oct. 11, 2018, due to some technical malfunction.

Russia's space agency after investigation declared that rocket carrying a crew to International space station failed recently because of technical malfunction of a sensor.

The Soyuz-FG rocket carrying a NASA astronaut and a Roscosmos cosmonaut failed two minutes into the October 11. Even though they landed safely, the machine failed to abort.

Roscosmos' executive director Sergei Krikalyov said Wednesday a malfunction of a sensor which signals the jettisoning one of the rocket's four side boosters caused the booster to collide with the second stage of the rocket.
