This has become a trend for many celebrities to join politics after their successful career in their respective field. Same goes with Saina Nehwal, she joined BJP on Wednesday with her sister Chandranshu. She stated that "It will be a privilege for me to be working with Modi Ji".
Nehwal said that Modi has done a lot to the sports and she acknowledged 'Khelo India movement' and 'Fit India Movement'.
Nehwal has been among the top players of Badminton. She has over 24 titles and she is also the recipient of Padma Sri, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Padma Bhushan and Arjuna Award.
Party has included many sportspeople in the recent past including Gautam Gambhir, he is the MP from Delhi and Babita Phogat.
Various celebrities congratulated her and gave her wishes for her future endeavours through twitter.
