UK Should Not Be A Safe Haven For Criminals: India
The United Kingdom should not become a haven for India’s most wanted criminals, India tells the UK.

India sent its message to the UK Minister of State that the UK should not be a haven for wanted criminals trying to escape from India. This was stated keeping in mind the cases of Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi. We know that Nirav Modi is wanted for the PNB fraud case of $2.2 billion and Vijay Mallya also has unpaid loans to return. Nirav Modi recently fled to the UK and has now filed a case for political asylum. UK authorities have confirmed the presence of Nirav Modi in Britain. In a meeting, the Minister of state of Home department Kiren Rijiju told that criminals see Britain as a land of haven and that they can escape from other countries authorities by staying there. This should change. The counterpart minister of Britain confirmed that Britain is in full cooperation with India with regard to these cases.
