The researchers said that this model will help in the assistance during emergency services and that this will come in handy to find out the aftershock intensity. Earthquakes occur in sequences. First comes the main shock that is larger in intensity. Later on, comes the aftershock. However, the aftershock is comparatively less intense. But aftershock has the potential to hamper recovery efforts. Hence it is important to understand the location, the intensity of aftershocks post an earthquake.
