30-year-old Kendrick Lamar became the first rapper to win the Pulitzer Prize for music on Monday for his album ‘DAMN.’ Since its inception in 1943, the Pulitzer Prize for music was awarded for 67 times. Yet this is the first time the award was given to an artist outside the community of classical or jazz.
