Recently, NASA’s probe Juno has found the reason behind the strange lightning on the planet of Jupiter.
NASA’s probe Voyager 1 spotted strange lightning patterns on Jupiter in the year 1979 when it designed to know more about the giant planet. NASA’s scientists couldn’t decode the mystery behind this lightning until recently. Another one of NASA’s spacecraft, Juno decoded it for us. Juno dug deeper into Jupiter’s atmosphere and found out that this lightning is similar to the lightning on earth. However, the lightning phenomena occur mostly at the equator on earth whereas on Jupiter the lightning occurs primarily at poles. Juno spacecraft has brought information about the giant gas planet which can help us understand the various conditions of that planet better.
