Dawn – NASA’s spacecraft to study the asteroid belt. After years of capturing beautiful imagery and giving us breakthrough information, Dawn’s mission has neared its end. Dawn was launched in the year 2007 to study the two protoplanets out of the three named Vesta and Ceres. The probe is likely to run out of its fuel hydrazine. After that it will lose contact with earth, however, even after that, it will still remain in a silent orbit without any communication from anyone or anything. From 2011 to 2012, the spacecraft orbited over Vesta, and in 2015, it spotted a cryovolcano and mysterious salt-deposits on Ceres. After almost 11 years of transmitting data to the earth, theDawn is finally nearing its end.
