Former chief minister of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal has been indicted in the Sacrilege Case in the Justice Ranjit Singh (Retired) Commission Report. The commission’s report said that there is enough proof material which proves there have been talks phone conversations between with Commissioner and Mantar Singh Brar, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) with Gangandeep Brar. The report also states that opportunity was given to the former chief minister then to explain his part of the story and state whether the exchange happened or not but he refused to cooperate then. It is hence concluded from his non-cooperation that the DGP discussed with the then chief minister about the clearance of the dharna site. On July 30, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had announced that the 2015 Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan firing that followed the Bargari Guru Granth Sahib Sacrilege would be investigated by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
