Indian Northern Railways has decided to dedicate one WhatsApp group for every department to keep a check on the cleanliness of trains.
Northern Railway General Manager Vishwesh Chaube said that every department of the northern railways now has a WhatsApp group in which the status of everything will be updated on a daily basis. A senior railway official will monitor this group. Every department like pantry, bedrolls, air conditioning have their own WhatsApp groups. The zone is also planning to commission a new automatic wash plant which will thoroughly clean a coach in less than 8 minutes time. This wash plant is intended to set up at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station at Delhi. This plant costs around 1.6 crore rupees and can wash 250 coaches per day. The automatic wash plant will consume about 240 liters of water every day.
