'OurMine' a hacker's group hacked Facebook's social media accounts on Friday afternoon.
Not Facebook But Facebook's Account Hacked
OurMine is the same hacker's group has also taken credit for hacking social media accounts owned by Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, Sundar Pichai, and HBO in the past.
The official Facebook Twitter account and the official Messenger Twitter account, as well as Instagram, accounts for each, were compromised.
In a statement, Twitter said that the hacking happened through a third-party platform:
"Confirming the account was hacked through a third-party platform. As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we locked the compromised account and are working closely with our partners at Facebook to restore them."
To be clear, neither Facebook nor Twitter was hacked here. Tweets and Instagram posts were posted from a third-party service called Khoros.
