Satya Pal Malik is the first career politician to be appointed as a governor in the last 51 years which clearly shows the change in strategy of the centre in dealing with troubled states.
President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed governors for seven states which are Bihar, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim, Meghalaya, and Tripura. Governor Satya Pal Malik has been transferred from Bihar to Jammu and Kashmir. He will be replacing NN Vohra. While BJP leader Lal G Tandon has been appointed as the governor for Bihar. Kaptan Singh Solanki is the new governor of Haryana. He is being transferred from Tripura. Satyadev Narayan Arya will be the new governor of Tripura.
